· Sachin Tendulkar, the only player to score 1,000 runs in Test matches this year, is the first batsman to complete 1,000 runs or more in this format of the game in a calendar year six times.

· Doug Bollinger (3/32) has produced his best bowling effort against India.

· Ben Hilfenhaus (4/57) has produced his best ever bowling performance in Tests.

· Sachin Tendulkar became the first player from the sub-continent to register 5,000 runs for a winning cause, aggregating 5126 (average 66.57), including 19 hundreds and 19 fifties, in 58 Tests.
· Ricky Ponting (8314), Steve Waugh (6460), Matthew Hayden (6154), Jacques Kallis (5390), Justin Langer (5229) and Sachin Tendulkar (5126) are the leading batsmen for a winning cause.
· Under Ponting’s captaincy, Australia has lost four Tests out of six played in India. He is yet to post a win on Indian soil as the remaining two Tests could not produce results.
· Ponting’s tally of four defeats in India is the highest by any Australian captain, eclipsing Mark Taylor’s tally of 3 in 4 Tests.

· Zaheer Khan has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the fifth time in Tests - his second against Australia.
· Zaheer has received just two Man of the Match awards in India, both times against Australia. He had first got the MOM award against Australia for making 57 not out and capturing six wickets in the 2008-09 Bangalore Test.
· India’s exciting one-wicket win is their fifth in eight Tests in 2010 (Lost 2 and Drawn 1) – a winning percentage of 62.50.
· Australia’s aforesaid defeat is their second this year. They have won five out of seven played – winning percentage 71.42.
· India has enhanced their success percentage against Australia to 24.67. It won 19, lost 34, Drawn 23 and Tied 1 out of 77 Test matches.

· VVS Laxman has recorded his eleventh half-century against Australia - his 46th overall.
· Laxman enjoys a brilliant record in 2010. His aggregate reads 573 in six Tests (average 95.50), including two centuries and four fifties.
· Amongst the batsmen with 500 runs or more this year, Laxman’s batting average is the best.
· Laxman has completed 3000 runs for winning cause – 3017 (average 54.85) in 42 Tests, including six centuries and 21 fifties.
· Laxman has amassed 875 in 30 innings at an average of 39.77, including one century and five fifties, in the fourth innings of Tests.

· India had beaten Australia twice by two wickets – at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai in 1964-65 and at Chepauk, Chennai in 2000-01.
· Overall, in Test annals, twelve wins have been registered by one-wicket margin.
· For Dhoni, the aforesaid win is the eleventh out of 17 played (Lost 2 and Drawn 4) -- success percentage of 64.70.
